Gear List for the 3-Day Wilderness Living Skills Workshop


        Tent (unless you are renting a cabin bunk*)
        Sleeping Bag
        Flashlight (or Headlamp)
        Knife (at least 4” blade, non-folding recommended)
        Water Bottle (we will have drinking water on location)
        Notebook and pen or pencil
        Clothing: Dress for the weather and bring clothes that you can get dirty. We    
        recommend earth-tone colors for blending in to the surroundings. Also bring comfortable
        footwear.
        Towel
        Toiletries
        Personal Medication/Prescriptions
        Food: for lunch, dinner, breakfast, lunch, dinner, breakfast, lunch (see
        recommendations below)
        Eating Utensils: bowl, plate, spoon, knife, or whatever you'll be using
        Soap: biodegradable only please!!!
    *If you are renting a cabin bunk you will need to bring your own sheets and blankets or
    you may simply sleep in your sleeping bag on the bed.

Suggestions/ Optional
        Thin-soled, low-cut Shoes (for moving easier and quieter in the woods)
        Tick Kit: small mirror, tweezers
        Camera
        Camp Chair
        Mug (we may be making tea from wild plants and trees)
        Small Food Cooler (if you need one for your food)
        Nature Field Guides (to trees, tracks, plants, birds, etc)
        Cooking Pot and Camp Stove for your food (you may also use the fire to cook over)

Do Not Bring
        Drugs (except prescription medication)
        Alcohol
        Weapons (unless it’s something primitive, legal, and relevant)

Food Suggestions: Trail Mix, Sandwich items, Bagels, Fruit, Yogurt, Granola, Eggs (can be cooked
over fire or hard boiled at home and easily transported).
We will have a fire to cook over for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights and could be used for
breakfast too. There’s a nice food co-op in Paoli where you can get organic foods, bulk items like dried

Note:
We will hike in a short distance from the vehicles (<1 mile) and set up a base camp with our tents and
then a separate primitive camp where we will work on skills. There will not be strenuous hiking with
backpacks on but you should be able to walk through the woods on and off-trail and up and down hills.
We will be a short walk from outdoor (yet private) toilets and solar-heated showers along with a sink.
