Learn within a supportive group of students and mentors. The
WILD program is a series of classes that teaches participants
about the 8 shields curriculum (seen below). It begins with Level
1 where students learn the basics of our unique approach to
nature. From there students may take advanced WILD courses
including Level 2, Tracking & Awareness, Advanced Survival
Skills, or Wild Foods and Cooking.
Open to all ages 18 & up.

Level 1 Curriculum Overview:
  • Naturalist Studies: plants, trees, birds, mammals, reptiles,
    amphibians
  • Core Routines of Native Awareness: practicing techniques
to increase awareness and knowledge of nature
  • Games: we do like to have fun! Plus our wilderness games
can teach a lot about the animals, hiding, camouflage, and
    sensory awareness
  • Basic Wilderness Survival Skills
  • Navigation Techniques
  • Stories from our Lineage: Where did these skills and
teachings come from? Who are the ones that came before?

Level 1 is where new participants begin with the WILD
program. It meets twice per month for 7-hours on a Saturday
and 3 hours on a weekday for 3 months.
The next Level 1 course will begin in September 2010. Schedule
is to be released by July 2010.
